To friendshelpingfriends

For some reason I can not reply to your post.

I want to thank you for your kind response.Iwill check the guidelines for this assistance- but I do not think I will qualify. I contacted them a few years ago because I knew the furnace was in an unsafe condition. The income guidelines for two people was either 22,000 or 24,000- in either case my husband's & my combined income is 29,700 thus disqualiying us. In fact I do ot think we will qualify for any type of government program. We make to little to cover basic daily living expenses but too much to qualify for any help with these expenses. I probably would need a private grant but I am not sure where to look for one or if there are any to be had.

I  will check to see if the income guidelines have changed but do not hold out much hope for that.

Thanks again!

About doglover

I live in Illinois and a few days ago discovered that my furnace would not turn on. A furnace repair man looked at it and said it is so old that parts are no longer avaialable for it and I need a new furnace. We can not get a loan of that size- we are on a fixed income and my husband has several chronic medical problems. Our house needs other repairs- a leaking roof, need a new sandpoint for our water supply- but the furnace is the most pressing issue. We need help ASAP so we do not have tp go through a cold, Midwest winter without heat.

Thanks for the opportunity to post this!
